6 Fees & Payment
Our current service fees are as follows, quoted in Thai Baht (฿):
| Service | Fee |
|---|---|
| Thoughtful Family Consultation | ฿7,300 |
| Agreement & Mediation Support | ฿11,000 |
| Full Family Matter Handling | ฿13,600 |
Fees are confirmed in writing before any work begins. Additional disbursements (such as court fees or official document charges) will be discussed and agreed with you before they are incurred. Payment terms and accepted methods are set out in your engagement letter. All fees are exclusive of VAT where applicable.
Refund Considerations
If you choose not to proceed after an initial consultation, no further charges will be applied beyond the consultation fee, unless otherwise agreed. For ongoing matters, fees already incurred for completed work are not ordinarily refunded. We will always discuss your position with you openly before any significant step is taken.
7 Service-Specific Terms
Consultations
A consultation is a time-limited meeting to discuss your situation and explore available options. It does not by itself create an ongoing client relationship. A formal engagement letter is required before we undertake further work on your matter.
Mediation & Agreements
We assist parties in reaching fair, considered arrangements. The outcome of mediation is not within our control — we facilitate discussion and support the drafting of whatever agreement the parties choose to reach. We do not impose outcomes.
Full Matter Handling
For matters requiring formal steps, we will explain each stage clearly before proceeding. The timeline for resolution will depend on the specific circumstances and, where courts are involved, on their schedules.
Confidentiality
All information shared with us in the course of a matter is treated as confidential and is subject to legal professional privilege where applicable. We do not disclose client information to third parties except as required by law or with your consent.
8 Disclaimers
Information on this website is provided for general informational purposes only and does not constitute legal advice. Reading or relying on website content does not create a solicitor-client relationship.
Legal outcomes in family matters depend on the specific facts and the exercise of judicial discretion. We work diligently on your behalf and provide our honest professional opinion, but we cannot predict or assure any particular result. No outcome is assured by engaging our services.
While we take care to keep our website accurate and up to date, we do not warrant that it is free of errors or that it reflects the most current legal position on any topic.
9 Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by Thai law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or in connection with our services shall not exceed the fees paid by you for the specific service to which the claim relates.
We shall not be liable for:
- Indirect, consequential, or incidental losses.
- Loss of income, opportunity, or anticipated savings.
- Any outcome determined by a court or other authority outside our control.
- Loss or damage arising from your failure to provide accurate or complete information.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10 Confidentiality
We maintain strict confidentiality over all client information. Our team is bound by professional obligations of confidentiality under Thai law and the rules of the Lawyers Council of Thailand.
You agree to treat any information we share with you about our methods, pricing, or practice as confidential and not to disclose it to others without our consent, except as may be required by law.
11 Termination
You may end our engagement at any time by notifying us in writing. You will be responsible for fees incurred up to the point of termination. We will provide you with your file and any documents belonging to you.
We may cease acting for you in circumstances where continuing would place us in breach of our professional obligations, where there is a breakdown in trust, or where our fees remain unpaid after reasonable notice. We will give you reasonable notice where possible and provide sufficient assistance to allow you to find alternative representation.
Sections 5, 8, 9, 10, and 12 shall survive termination of any engagement.
12 Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms and any engagement with Duangjai Legal are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand. Any dispute arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Bangkok, Thailand.
Before commencing any formal proceedings, we ask that you contact us to discuss the matter. Many concerns can be resolved through open conversation, and we would prefer to address any issues in that spirit first.
13 Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised date. For ongoing engagements, material changes will be communicated to you directly. Continued use of the website after a change is posted will be treated as acceptance of the revised Terms.
